Professional Background
I have been a member of the Hammond community since 2004 and I have been a licensed clinical social worker for 30 years. I received my Master's Degree from The University of Maryland School of Social Work and Community Planning and my undergraduate degree is in Psychology from Towson University. Yes, I am a Baltimore girl! Past professional positions have been with the Howard County Police Department, The Department of Social Services, Franklin Square Hospital, University of Maryland Hospital and The Maryland Department of Juvenile Services. I have also had a private mental health practice in Columbia, Maryland, was on staff with Sheppard Pratt Hospital and was an adjunct professor at Howard County Community College and UMBC. Whoa...I've been around! This actually helps bring a great deal of experience and diversity to helping our families here at Hammond High School!
Spare Time
I have been married for 34 years (got married as a toddler!) and I have 3 wonderful adult children; two boys (still live at home, and one daughter who married two years ago. When I do have spare time I coach field hockey and softball for Hammond. I am an avid bicyclist, kayaker, golfer and hiker. I have hiked the Appalachian Trail in Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania and Vermont; usually doing the hiking in the winter months on weekends. To relax I enjoy watching movies. Oh, I can't forget I have a dachshund named Boh Boh and a cat named Phillip. My son's cat also lives with us and his name is Boris.
